USA Wheelchair Rugby is pleased to announce that 37 athletes will be attending the 2019 Parapan American Games Team Selection Camp January 2-6, 2019. Over 40 athletes received an invitation to attend, two of which were withdrawn due to their USQRA classification status. Additionally, the Selection Committee received four petitions for an invite and all were granted; one pending further confirmation by December 31st from the IWRF. At the conclusion of the camp the committee will nominate up to 16 athletes who will train for a spot on the 2019 Parapan American Games Team, to be named in May. The Parapan American Games, taking place in Lima, Peru next August, will be the last chance for the Americans to automatically qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The team will also compete this season at the 2019 Four Nations Invitational hosted by Lakeshore Foundation in May and the World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge next October in Tokyo.
