Headshot of Travis Baker

Travis Baker

Bio: While Travis Baker may still be relatively new to the sport of wheelchair rugby, it’s safe to say he’s ready to make a big impact. Baker started playing in 2017 when he was noticed by the coach of the Ohio Buckeye Blitz club wheelchair rugby team. After attending a practice, he was instantly hooked. Baker loves the competitive aspects of the sport, including the fast-paced style of play, physicality and acute strategy required. He also loves the comradeship that comes with being on a team and learning from his fellow teammates. Baker considers himself to be extremely competitive and hopes to become a key player for on USA Wheelchair Rugby in the coming years, including helping the team bring home a gold medal. Baker is in his fourth year as a student-athlete at the University of Arizona, where he studies nutritional sciences with an emphasis on dietetics and plays for the Wildcats. In his free time, he loves to workout, play video games, hunt, fish and is always up for a fun time with his roommates and teammates. He always looks forward to any opportunity to head home and spend time with his family or what he calls “the greatest family that ever existed.”
