Reflecting on today’s win Head Coach Joe Delagrave shared a bit about the lead up to today’s match up. “In preparation for this game we talked as a team about Colombia and their style of play,” said Delagrave. “We know that they are a solid squad and would come out quick – we would need to come out strong ourselves and certainly did so today. We have been working hard to have multiple lines we can implement to address what we expect and to pivot as the match dictates. Very proud of how the team responded today and am looking forward to the gold medal match against the winner of the Canada Brazil match up this evening.”

The gold medal match is scheduled for 6 p.m. local time on Tuesday, July 15th.

Winning today’s game not only sends the U.S. to the gold medal final but also punches the U.S. ticket for next year’s World Championship as the top two teams from the Americas Championship earn spots in the 2026 event.
