Wheelchair Rugby Athlete Elected to USOC's Athletes' Advisory Council

USA Wheelchair Rugby on November 11, 2016

As a result of a recent change to the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Athletes’ Advisory Council (AAC) bylaws, there will be increased Paralympic representation on the AAC.  This change will result in a representative on the AAC from each sport organization recognized by the USOC on the Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American or Parapan American Games program with a four-year term beginning January 1, 2017.  Lakeshore Foundation serves as the High Performance Management Organization for USA Wheelchair Rugby who participate in both the Parapan American and Paralympic Games.  As a result of a recent election process for eligible athletes, Chuck Aoki, Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Silver medalist and London 2012 Bronze medalist, was selected as primary AAC representative for Wheelchair Rugby for the 2017-2020 period.  This will give him the fantastic privilege of serving as a voice for athletes not only in our sport, but across the entire Paralympic movement! Congrats Chuck, we know you will do a great job!
